About Us

About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

      Our Beliefs

We believe in Jesus Christ . . .

As the Son of God . . . in God the Father, and in the Holy Spirit.
As the Word of God . . . and the Bible as the inspired, authoritative rule of Christian faith and conduct.
As Man's Only Savior and Redeemer . . . from sin through faith in His atoning vicarious death upon the Cross.
As Lord . . . of the Christian's life and in His power to enable the Christian to live obediently to His holy unchangeable law of love, the Ten Commandments.
As Creator . . . of heaven and earth and of the holy Sabbath day commemorating His wondrous creative power to make a sinner into a saint.
As Man's Priest . . . In the courts of heaven, ministering the effects of His perfect atonement to all who believe and accept Him as their Savior.
As Coming King . . . who will physically return to the earth a second time accompanied by all the holy angels, to resurrect all who believe in Him.

We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is profitable for correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness
(2Timothy 3:16) and that it reveals the almighty God.

We believe that Jesus is the eternal, self-existent God and is not a created being. Even though He is fully God, He took upon Himself the form of a man to live and die for our sins.

We believe that the penalty for man's sin was paid on the cross of Calvary in Jesus' death. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. By believing on Jesus Christ and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life. "Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:9.

Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we want to obey Him as he commands in John 14:15. We are not saved by our works; but, because we are saved, we choose to keep His commandments as the guide for successful living.

We believe that prophecy reveals Jesus is coming again very soon. Mathew 24:32-51.
